Do I need to have certain skills to volunteer?
No. A willing heart is all that we require, and we can help you find the area of need that best fits who you are. All of us have unique talents and skills that sometimes just need the right environment to discover.
IF I SPONSOR A CHILD CAN I VISIT THEM?
Yes absolutely. While it is not required for child sponsorship for you to travel to them, we would encourage and take you to visit with them.
WHAT IF I WANT TO SERVE GLOBALLY BUT NOT IN eL SALVADOR?
We have many partnerships with other ministries who travel all over the globe. If El Salvador isn’t right for you we will connect you to a mission that is.
IF I DON'T WANT TO GO TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY CAN I STILL BE USEFUL?

Why El salvador when there are needs here in america?
While we understand the needs here in the US and partner with many organizations to serve others locally, we cant ignore the needs of others globally. Many of the problems in El Salvador are a direct result of our government’s involvement in the oppression of the poor many years ago.
Are my donations or trips tax deductible?
Yes, Emerson’s House of Refuge is a 501c3 non-profit organization. If you are attending a mission trip that money is tax deductible as you will be going as an ambassador for Emerson’s House of Refuge and will not be compensated with goods or monetary value for your service.
